Water changes should be carried out on a regular basis, every 2 weeks a 30%-50% water change should be carried out, by purchasing a gravel cleaner it is more easier to clean the gravel and do a water change at the same time, by doing this you will be siphoning any harmful waste from the gravel, not doing a gravel clean can cause high levels of ammonia and nitrate which becomes harmful to the tank conditions.
Question
What aquarium should I buy?
Answer:
If you have been thinking about buying an aquarium for your home make sure you have the space for the aquarium to go, buying a glass or acrylic aquarium? Both acrylic and glass aquariums have their advantages and disadvantages. Acrylic has a special sealing system used in the construction process and these tanks are more or less guaranteed for life against leakages, whereas the silicon used in glass sealing will break down over a period of years. Glass tanks can be very heavy and normally need 2 people to lift, with acrylic it is at least half the weight of glass.
